After winning season 6 of Food Network’s The Great Food Truck Race, owners Sophia Woo and Sunny Lin took their winnings and opened their dream restaurant that reflected their ideals of culture, family, inclusiveness, and community. The dishes are inspired by foods commonly eaten all over the Asian continent and represent their identity in a unique way. “We like to refer to our approach to food and our identity as nature (Asian Americans) and nurture (who grew up in the American South around lots of diverse ethnic food).” ​ The final piece of the MOFU family was the addition of Matthew Kenner – owner of Milk Bar, Anchor Bar, and Southern Charred. His knowledge of the Raleigh area and extensive experience in the hospitality industry are the backbone of MOFU Shoppe’s cocktail and beverage offerings.
